Spittal of Glenshee, Glenshee, Perthshire, Scotland
March 2008 - Early afternoon sun on Spittal of Glenshee warms the dried ferns on the hills contrasting nicely with the deep blue of the sky.
The snow covered hills in the background are Glenshee Ski Resort. To the front and left, the late Spittal of Glenshee hotel, in fact, the only photograph I have of this hotel. It used to cater for walkers and skiers, offering some hearty lunches in a wonderful Scottish atmosphere, tartans everywhere and some spears, lances, swords, shields and muskets that had been recovered in the area. My mother was very fond of the location too.
In the middle is the MacThomas bridge.
I added a texture.
