EB0004 - "The Minesweeper" Memorial by William Lamb, The Faulds Golf Course Sea Front, Traill Drive, Montrose, Angus, Scotland

July 2009 - The Minesweeper is a life-size bronze statue situated at the sea front on Traill Drive. It faces out to sea and represents the local minesweeper who, during the second world war, was assigned to patrol the beach and dunes and watch for any mines that might stray into the harbour with the tides.

The statue was created by William Lamb who was a talented and renowned local artist who had received extensive shrapnel damage to his right hand during the war and learned to paint, draw and sculpt with his left hand on his return.
